An InRoads user asked for Mark's thoughts on this question :

Hello Mark,

I'm trying to figure out the best way to use the various modeling controls within the Roadway Designer and was thinking about controlling part of my modeling using Parametric Constraints. Can I do this between two template drops where the section is transitioning from one section to another?

Here is the Zen Dude's response:

Hi Todd!
This is a great question!
It would seem like you should be able to do this since there are many instances where you can apply multiple controls to a roadway Corridor in the Roadway Designer. But in this case, the answer is 'no'. Template to template, transitions are senior to Parametric Constraint controls in the grand scheme of things. That means that you cannot apply Parametric Constraints to a template point within a template to template transition station range, even if that point is not being influenced by the transition.
I created a transition with a bunch of ridiculous Parametric Constraints (shown below) and you'll see that they are not taking effect in the blue transition zone. (Trust me, they're not ; )
If you disable the transition (like I did in the picture below) then the Parametric Constraints will take control and become applied through the transition area.
I don't know if you could say that this is intuitive or not, but in some ways if you really think about it does make some sense.

I hope this helps!

Civilly yours,
